How We Use Your Information
We use the information below to provide and secure the service: running your account, producing and delivering content, sending projects to the copywriter/editor you choose, processing credit purchases and refunds, sending technical and support emails, preventing fraud and abuse, and answering your messages. We do not send marketing emails and we do not sell your personal information.
Legal Basis for Processing
Where UK/EU data protection law applies, we process your personal data on these legal bases: performance of a contract (the account and services you signed up for), our legitimate interests (securing the service and preventing fraud), your consent (Analytics cookies only, which you can withdraw at any time), and compliance with legal obligations.
Who Receives Your Information
We share personal data only where needed to run the service: our hosting and database providers; our payment processor, which receives your card and billing details to take payments and refunds; our email delivery provider, for sign-in codes, receipts and support emails; our AI model providers, which receive the brief text needed to generate content; the copywriter/editor you send a project to, limited to the brief and content needed to complete it; our product analytics provider, only if you allow Analytics cookies; and our team messaging app, where the team is alerted to new sign-ups, payments and contact-form messages (email, name, IP address and country). Identity documents from copywriter applicants are stored by us and reviewed only by our team. We also disclose data where the law requires it.
International Data Transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Data Retention
We keep your account data, projects and purchase records while your account exists. When you delete your account in Settings, your account, profile, projects and purchase records are deleted straight away. Contact-form messages are kept so we can follow up on them; you can ask us to delete yours at any time. Card details are never stored by us.
Data Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (TLS), and our database provider encrypts stored data at rest. Passwords are stored only as hashes, access to accounts is limited by role, and card details go straight to our payment processor without being stored on our servers.
Cookies
We use Necessary cookies to run the site and, only if you allow it, Analytics cookies. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie by name; you can change your choice at any time with "Manage Cookies" in the footer.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal information, and to object to processing or withdraw consent at any time. You can download your data and delete your account in Settings, or write to info@copyrefine.pro. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children's Privacy
CopyRefine is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, notify you directly.
